Busy Days

Phoebe has been with us for three weeks and three days.  It's been difficult finding the time and energy to post an update.

She's doing great.  This girl has a serious love for being outdoors, so we go on lot's of walks.  Sometimes she wants to walk, sometimes she wants to push the stroller and every once in a while she'll climb in and let us push her.  Every day we spend hours on the patio with playdough, a spoon and dirt and the water hose.  We've approached a park almost every day that we've been home and our girl has absolutely NOT been interested.  But today as we were walking by ...ta-da, she wanted to get out of the stroller and  check it out:). She had so much fun pulling me all over the play equipment.  By the end of our time there, she was climbing up and going down the slide by herself!  I'm one proud mama:).

There's absolutely no shortage of energy and giggles in her💗  We're sure thankful for Gracie's energy and playfulness,  when I need a few minutes to catch my breath😜

Coming up with a routine so that Carsen and Gracie can get their schoolwork done is proving to be a challenge. None of us study well with distractions and since we haven't had little ones around in a very long time, we're needing to get creative.  Phoebe knows to knock on their doors before she goes in, but she'll stand there and knock until they let her in and she doesn't quite get the concept that they're not available😖

Overall, we're doing well...getting our hair done by a three year old😂, listening to silly tunes, getting our faces covered in stickers on a daily basis, trying to hide for a few minutes of quiet and taking more walks then we've taken in 10 years.  I do feel like the four of us have had a more difficult time adjusting than she has and for that we are thankful (since WE understand what's going on!).

I think our internal clocks are almost reset (yay!!!). Sleep is already getting more and more consistent and peaceful for Phoebe.  We're all beyond thankful for that!

And some pictures make every post more fun!!!

  1. This is all bringing back so many memories. We were very thankful that we had two older daughters to help with our adoptions also. It makes a huge difference if you can get a little rest. We are enjoying hearing your stories and seeing your photos, and we are thankful that God has given you so many blessings through this process.

  2. So fun to see pictures since we are not across the street! A tad jealous of Jens and Jaime who get to meet her in a few weeks! Glad sleep is going well. Love the updates! Continuing to pray!!!!
