Home 4 Weeks

Phoebe is still doing great!  She is imitating our sounds often (think ABC's) and repeating simple phrases daily.  We all totally understand when she says park, we're home, apple, taco, more, help mama, banana.  Most of her repeats are only understood by us, but she's doing better every day.

She got to meet her Uncke Jens and Auntie Jaimi this past weekend.  We took a trip to the beach and to Downtown Disney and she was alert and observant the whole time.  She didn't love the feel of the sand and she didn't want to be near the water but she did well:). She especially enjoyed her late night visit with Auntie Jaimi while Uncle Jens and Baba were at an Angel's game.  I think we may need to visit Iowa in the next couple of years to see all of the cousins!

Still spending great amounts of time playing with playdough, dirt and the water hose.  But we're also spending a lot of time playing with Hu Huwa ( her stuffed Panda), Lambie and Baby (she calls her Ma).  Of all of her babies and studies, these are her constant favorites.  She also has a barn with animals that she spends quite a bit of time with.  Bath time is starting to take a backseat to other types of play.  Going to the park almost daily has been pretty fun to watch.  She's so observant and then when no one is seemingly watching her, she'll go and copy whatever her child of choice was doing.

Sleep has come s long way (yay!!!). Tonight, for the first time, she told me when it was time for Night-night😂😴

Busy Days

Phoebe has been with us for three weeks and three days.  It's been difficult finding the time and energy to post an update.

She's doing great.  This girl has a serious love for being outdoors, so we go on lot's of walks.  Sometimes she wants to walk, sometimes she wants to push the stroller and every once in a while she'll climb in and let us push her.  Every day we spend hours on the patio with playdough, a spoon and dirt and the water hose.  We've approached a park almost every day that we've been home and our girl has absolutely NOT been interested.  But today as we were walking by ...ta-da, she wanted to get out of the stroller and  check it out:). She had so much fun pulling me all over the play equipment.  By the end of our time there, she was climbing up and going down the slide by herself!  I'm one proud mama:).

There's absolutely no shortage of energy and giggles in her💗  We're sure thankful for Gracie's energy and playfulness,  when I need a few minutes to catch my breath😜

Coming up with a routine so that Carsen and Gracie can get their schoolwork done is proving to be a challenge. None of us study well with distractions and since we haven't had little ones around in a very long time, we're needing to get creative.  Phoebe knows to knock on their doors before she goes in, but she'll stand there and knock until they let her in and she doesn't quite get the concept that they're not available😖

Overall, we're doing well...getting our hair done by a three year old😂, listening to silly tunes, getting our faces covered in stickers on a daily basis, trying to hide for a few minutes of quiet and taking more walks then we've taken in 10 years.  I do feel like the four of us have had a more difficult time adjusting than she has and for that we are thankful (since WE understand what's going on!).

I think our internal clocks are almost reset (yay!!!). Sleep is already getting more and more consistent and peaceful for Phoebe.  We're all beyond thankful for that!

And some pictures make every post more fun!!!
